Lab-grown diamond studs under $500
Under $500 on Amazon a pair of lab-grown diamond studs in solid 14K gold runs from a quarter carat total to about 1 carat total, which is two stones of roughly half a carat each. Lab-grown diamond is real diamond, and studs are the easiest diamond gift to get right: no ring size, and they suit everyone. Read “ctw” as the weight of both stones together, prefer screw backs, check for a 14K or 585 stamp, and look up any IGI number yourself. Each card below shows today’s Amazon price, and a pair that goes over $500 drops off this page.
How we pick: We list a pair only when its own listing says lab-grown diamond and gives the carat weight and solid 14K gold, and only while today’s Amazon price is $500 or less. Each listing was in stock in the Amazon Creators API on 31 October 2026, and we read its title, bullets and specification table. Listings that failed our checks were left out. Grades and certificates on a listing are the seller’s claims.

- Solid 14K gold
Before you buy: the listing checklist
- ctw or cttw means both stones together: 1 ctw studs are two stones of about half a carat each.
- The words “lab-grown diamond” or “laboratory-grown diamond”. “Simulated diamond”, “CZ” and “crystal” are imitations; moissanite is a different gem.
- A 14K or 585 stamp for solid gold. “Gold plated”, “vermeil” and “14K gold over sterling” mean silver or another metal under a thin layer of gold.
- An IGI number you type into igi.org yourself, not a link or QR code from the seller.
- Screw backs, or tight push backs, on half a carat a side and up.
- The delivery date before you order a Christmas gift, and keep the box, report and inserts for a return.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are lab-grown diamond studs real diamonds?
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and sparkle. The US Federal Trade Commission’s Jewelry Guides define diamond by what it is, not where it came from, and require a lab-grown one to be called laboratory-grown or laboratory-created.
How big are 1 carat total studs?
Each stone is about half a carat, roughly 5 mm across for a round brilliant. 0.5 ct total is about 4 mm per ear and 0.25 ct total about 3 mm.
Can you get lab diamond studs in real gold for under $500?
Yes. Every pair on this page is solid 14K gold, from a quarter carat to about 1 carat total. Each card shows today’s Amazon price, and a pair whose price goes over $500 is taken off the page at the next daily update.
Push backs or screw backs?
Screw backs thread onto the post and are the hardest to lose; push backs are quicker to put on. For stones of half a carat a side and more, choose screw backs or check that the push backs grip firmly.
Do I need an IGI report for small studs?
It helps but matters less than on a ring. Many small studs come with a brand certificate instead of a laboratory report. If the listing says IGI, ask for the numbers and look them up on igi.org; a report also tells you the stones are laboratory-grown.
